Please join Prof Jeoffrey Donnan & Prof Liping Liu in this session to hear them share their knowledge and experience on the importance of achieving lower levels of LDL-C to reduce the risk of recurrent CV events

Session objectives;

  • Recognise the relationship between LDL-C and risk of ASCVD
  • Understand the evidence surrounding management of dyslipidaemia, especially LDL-C, in the prevention of secondary CV events in patients with Stroke
  • Confidently initiate and intensify lipid-lowering therapy to achieve guideline-directed LDL-C targets to alter the trajectory of disease
  • Recognise that the lower the LDL-C the better, with no known lower limit at which benefit ceases and harm occurs.
  • Implement a system to regularly assess full lipid profiles until guideline-directed LDL-C targets are achieved.
  • Get an update on the current lipid lowering therapies and RWE.

On behalf of the Emerging Stroke Clinicians and Scientists (ESCS) committee of the Australian and New Zealand Stroke Organisation (ANZSO), we invite you to our lunchtime seminar at the combined ANZSO/Asia Pacific Stroke Conference (APSC) on Friday, 27th September 2024, Room E3, 12pm to 1:15pm.

Our seminar this year, entitled ‘Expanding the Borders of your Research’, aims to highlight the challenges and strategies needed to successfully transcend borders in stroke research, including establishing national and international collaborations and experience working across the various stages of the research pipeline to optimise translation and impact. We have a fantastic line-up of international speakers including Professor Louise Connell, Professor Jeyaraj Pandian and others.

We welcome all emerging stroke clinicians and scientists attending the conference to attend, including APSC members!
