Craig Anderson
Dr Anderson is an international authority on the causes, treatment and management of stroke, and other aspects of cardiovascular disease. He has led multiple major international multicentre clinical trials and population-based research over the last 30 years, including the INTERACT and ENCHANTED program examining different approaches to blood pressure lowering in acute intracerebral haemorrhage and ischaemic stroke, respectively; HeadPoST of different degrees of head positioning in acute stroke; SAVE of CPAP treatment for the prevention of major cardiovascular events in adults with obstructive sleep apnoea; and the ongoing TRIDENT of a triple-pill low-dose combination antihypertensive strategy for secondary prevention after intracerebral haemorrhage.
He holds multiple appointments including as Professor of Neurology and Epidemiology at the University of New South Wales, and Director of the Global Brain Health Program at The George Institute for Global Health in Sydney, Australia; and Professor at the Institute of Science and Technology for Brain-inspired Intelligence (ISTBI) at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. He is a neurologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia, Editor-in-Chief of the journal Cerebrovascular Diseases, and Vice-President of the World Stroke Organisation
