Ilari Rautalin

Dr. Ilari Rautalin is a Finnish neurosurgery resident who currently works as a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences in New Zealand. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Helsinki, leading several multinational studies on the epidemiology of subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) and other types of stroke. Dr. Rautalin has published extensively in leading medical journals, with a particular focus on using administrative data to study SAH incidence, case fatality, and risk factors. Over the past decade, his research has provided groundbreaking insights into SAH epidemiology, especially in the Nordic countries and New Zealand.
