Valerian L Altersberger
Dr. Valerian Altersberger is a German neurologist who completed his studies in human medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
In February 2017, he began working as a neurologist at the University Hospital Basel and completed his specialist training in 2023, subsequently working as a consultant neurologist. He is involved in the EndoVAscular treatment and ThRombolysis for Ischemic Stroke Patients (EVA-TRISP) Collaboration - an international research collaboration providing observational data on the treatment of acute ischemic stroke - and has led and co-authored numerous projects. He is currently undertaking a research fellowship under the supervision of Prof. Bruce Campbell at the Melbourne Brain Centre of the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Dr. Altersberger is focusing on research into the treatment and advanced neuroimaging of acute ischemic stroke.
