Brenda Booth

Brenda is the survivor of a stroke, which occurred in 2001 at the age of 41. She is a Registered Nurse and prior to her stroke worked in public and private hospitals, and for the last 33 years has worked in the Disability sector with State and Commonwealth Government. Brenda has had the opportunity to provide lived experience input at a local, state, national and international level. Brenda has extensive experience working collaboratively and in partnership within the stroke research sector. Brenda was recognised in 2019 when she was awarded an Order of Australia (OAM) for her contributions in stroke advocacy, policy development and research. In 2021 she was recognised for her achievements by the World Stroke Organisation and World Stroke Academy “Women in Stroke Initiative”. Since 2020 Brenda has been contributing her skills and experience as an Associate Investigator for the STOPstroke Synergy Grant and 2022 with the Centre of Research Excellence to Accelerate Stroke Trial Innovation and Translation.
