Brenda Booth
Brenda Booth is the survivor of a stroke, which occurred in 2001 at the age of 41. Brenda is a Registered Nurse and has worked in the public and private hospital sectors as well as State and Commonwealth Government Disability sectors.
Brenda has extensive experience and involvement in stroke policy development and research, and has built strong, collaborative partnerships across the stroke research sector. In 2019 Brenda was awarded an Order of Australia (OAM) in recognition of her services to consumer advocacy and her contributions in stroke policy development and research. She was further acknowledged in 2021 by the World Stroke Organisation and World Stroke Academy “Women in Stroke Initiative”. Brenda was honoured to receive the Stroke Foundation’s 2024 President’s Achievement Award, and in 2025 was appointed an Honorary Consumer Fellow by the George Institute for Global Health.
Since 2022 Brenda has been an Associate Investigator with the Centre of Research Excellence to Accelerate Stroke Trial Innovation and Translation.
