Gabby is a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) in the endovascular neuro-intervention (ENI) team at the John Hunter Hospital. After graduating with a bachelor of nursing from the University of Newcastle in 2019, Gabby began working in radiology and ENI, where she quickly developed a deep commitment to improving patient outcomes in stroke care. Currently, as a CNS, Gabby plays a pivotal role in coordinating patient transfers for endovascular clot retrieval, along with elective and urgent endovascular aneurysm treatments for patients in the Hunter New England, Central Coast and Mid North Coast Local Health Districts. Passionate about advancing the field, Gabby contributes to research initiatives aimed at improving stroke care protocols, with a strong focus on optimizing clinical workflows and improving patient outcomes. In addition to her clinical role, Gabby is pursuing a master’s of clinical education with the University of Newcastle to further enhance her contributions to both patient care and the professional development of the multidisciplinary teams supporting the ENI service, enhancing understanding of neuro-interventional procedures and patient recovery.
