Rita V Krishnamurthi
Rita is a Professor and Deputy Director at the National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences, AUT University, Auckland, New Zealand. Rita is currently involved in a number of research projects focused on stroke and dementia epidemiology. She is a co-director of the Auckland Regional Community Stroke (ARCOS V). She is currently PI of the HRC funded RCT "Digital Technologies for Stroke Prevention (DIGITS)", PI of the HRC Funded Activation Grant "Adapting Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for Chinese and Indians in NZ", named investigator and lead of the Indian stream of the "Impact of Dementia Mate Wareware and Solutions for Equity in Aotearoa", an AI and coordinator of several projects including the HRC-funded randomised clinical trial to test the effectiveness of Health and Wellness Coaching in people with minor stroke, the RIBURST study, a mobile app-based international study on stroke prevention, the Global Burden of Disease Study, as a member of the stroke expert panel (with collaborators from over 100 countries), PRIME International Study (85 collaborators from 28 countries), the Personalized Knowledge to Reduce Stroke Risk (PERKS) international trial funded by NHMRC investigating ways to reduce risk of stroke in the community).
